How to check whether a domain name is still available
Domain names are unique
This means that the owner of a domain name can decide what he wants to do with it for as long as he owns it. During the ordering process, our website will ask you to check if the domain name you have chosen is still available to register.
There are 2 options when your domain name has been registered already:
- You are the current owner of the domain but use a different registrar. You can easily port your domain to edpnet. Please, contact our commercial department for more info.
- You are not the owner of the domain. Then we would ask you to choose a different domain. Edpnet can not request ownership of these domains.
Checking availability
Checking if a domain name is available is simple.
Our residential customers can check the most frequently asked extensions .be, .com, .nl, .biz and .eu on this page and professional customers can use the following page.
If you want another extension, contact our customer service : edpnet has a list of more than 500 extensions available.
Attention! You can not register a domain name if:
- it is in quarantine ;
- it does not fall under requirements for a domain name
Just fill in the box with the domain name you want to choose and click the button to check the availability. Is your domain name still available? Good, that means you can start the order process!
